Change-CX expands office space in Weena Building Rotterdam

As of May 1, 2024, Change-CX will further expand its office space in Weena Building in Rotterdam. Change-CX has been occupying part of the 8th floor in this iconic building in the city center of Rotterdam since November 1, 2023. With this expansion, Nexus Real Estate has leased the entire floor of over 1,400 sqm on a long-term lease. Change-CX is a young dynamic fast growing startup specialized in innovating, implementing and improving customer contact for its clients through the latest technologies, such as speech, AI and Robotics.

Rotterdam urban planner Huig Maaskant is responsible for the design of many iconic buildings from the reconstruction period in Rotterdam. Among other things, he designed the Euromast, the Groot Handelsgebouw and developed Rotterdam’s Weena as a hotspot for large companies such as Shell and Unilever. In 1964, he designed the robust Weena Building as the headquarters for oil giant Texaco. In 2019, the building was renovated and the interior of the building was brought in line with the robust industrial design that gives the Weena Building its characteristic look.

Currently, Nexus Real Estate is renovating the central entrances, elevator lobbies and restrooms. For 2024, Nexus has plans to add a meeting center on the 1st floor to the building’s general area and create a social space on the first floor for the tenants of Weena Building.

Today, Weena Building is a high-end multi-tenant office building and a historic landmark within Rotterdam’s CBD. Housing, amongst others, the international headquarters of architect Rem Koolhaas’ Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA). Various retailers are located on the ground floor, including Yogaground (YG) and Cosmo Hairstyling.

The Weena Building is part of a larger real estate portfolio managed by Nexus Real Estate on behalf of Tristan Capital Partners since 2019.
